Photogrpahy

I’m an amateur landscape and seascape photographer based in Ynyslas, Ceredigion. My journey with photography began in Oswestry, but it wasn’t until I moved to Borth in 2022 that I truly found my inspiration. The sea’s ever-changing moods, rugged coastline, and breathtaking Ynyslas dunes have become the heart of my work.

My photography is about more than just taking pictures—it’s about telling the story of a place, its light, its movement, and its atmosphere. From the golden glow of sunrise over Borth Beach to the dramatic waves of a winter storm at Ynyslas, every image is a reflection of my deep connection to this stunning coastline.

Below is a selection of shots taken throughout the year.

My Journey

It all started with an £80 secondhand Pentax K20, which opened my eyes to the world behind a lens. From there, I quickly progressed through the Pentax K50, K70, and eventually the K1, accumulating more lenses than I could carry or afford.

At Christmas 2023, I discovered Olympus Micro 4/3 cameras—and everything changed. I traded the Pentax system for an OM1. The lightweight design, built-in filters, and incredible versatility completely transformed the way I shoot.

I now shoot with just three lenses: Olympus M.Zuiko 12-40mm, 40-150mm, and 100-400mm. I can be seen most days, scanning the shoreline with my very patient wife and two Spaniels most days.
