Photography
I’m a passionate amateur photographer specialising in landscapes and seascapes, based in Ynyslas, Ceredigion. My photography journey began in Oswestry, but it was the move to Borth in 2022 that truly ignited my creative spark. The ever-shifting sands and beach pebbles, the rugged coastline, and the breathtaking Ynyslas dunes have become the focus of my photography.
For me, photography is more than capturing images, it’s about conveying the essence of a place: its light, movement, and atmosphere. Whether it’s the golden glow of sunrise over Borth Beach or the fierce drama of winter waves crashing at Ynyslas, each photograph reflects my deep connection to this stunning stretch of coast.
Below is a selection of photographs taken throughout the years.
My Journey
It all began in 2022 with an £80 second-hand Pentax K20, which opened my eyes to the world through a lens. I quickly progressed through the Pentax K50, K70, and eventually the K1—collecting more lenses than I could carry (or afford).
Then, at Christmas 2023, I discovered Olympus Micro Four Thirds cameras—and everything changed. I traded in my Pentax gear for an OM-1. Its lightweight build, built-in filters, and remarkable versatility completely transformed how I shoot.
You’ll often find me scanning the shoreline with my very patient wife and our two Spaniels, camera in hand, chasing the faiding light of one more beautiful sunset.
